This dramatic piece physically depicts an audio recording of an Italian gentleman saying the popular Latin expression “Carpe Diem”.
The recording was uploaded into an app to create a striking image of those specific and unique sound waves. The image was then transformed into the unique and beautiful abstract design shown here.
A diverse textural colour pallet is achieved using various hardwood species including walnut, oak, ash, maple, birch and elm. Random thicknesses and widths of the wooden strips provide dimension and add to the natural element of the waves throughout the sound depiction.
Wood cut offs sourced from a local mill have been used throughout. This functional art not only looks stunning, but also has a small environmental footprint, so each piece provides an eco-conscious option in a luxury product.
Two coats of Zero VOC water-based sealer have been applied to preserve the beauty of the wood.
It comes with a printout of the original soundwave image and is hand signed and dated on the back. A mounting kit is also included for secure wall hanging.
